ONE — I’m in a cafe working today. A stranger just looked at me with total earnestness as he stood up to leave and said, "Have a great day." And it made my eyes well up a little as my face became hot and flush. I was reminded there is good in the world. Has this happened to you? Have you made it happen in another?
TWO — A friend said ‘I wish I had a bail button’ on some things she’s not sure she wants to do anymore. I laughed because I’d never heard this expression. Where in life do you wish you had a bail button?
THREE — Last year on Superbowl Sunday, I was delivering pizzas to Superbowl parties as an Uber Eats driver. This year we were invited to a great Superbowl party. Even if every problem in your life is not solved yet, can you find the blessings in the big bowl of life? Can you spot them in spite of life's pain and pressures?
FOUR — On that topic, author Brad Stulberg said, “People think progress is linear but it’s not.” He said, “You’ve got to stay in the game long enough to break through inevitable plateaus…Commit to showing up. Keep going.” If the measuring tool for a win today is showing up, what’s one win you can make happen?
FIVE — I’m working hard and believing in faith. Looking purely at how I’m showing up and what I’m putting out into the world, I believe I'll be in a much better place by this time next year. I have more faith now than I did a year ago while I was proudly delivering pizzas and doing what I could with what I had at the moment. How can you live in more faith as you work on yourself and toward improving your life?
